TFL Thomas Stretch

Lie on your back with your buttocks on the end of a table or other hard surface. Hug both knees up to your tummy, then allow the affected leg to drop down. Allow this leg to hang for the duration directed by your clinician. You should feel a firm stretch in the hip and the front of the thigh that is hanging down.

Top Tips

Be sure to keep your pelvis flat on the table throughout the stretch, do NOT allow your back to arch up.
